Andrew Griffiths, the former British undersecretary and deputy who resigned in 2018 over a sex scandal and was replaced in his seat by his wife Kate who had run for his post in 2019, had raped the woman for years. This is what the judge established in the case between the two former spouses before the court of Derby.

A sentence that, to protect the couple's son, had to remain confidential but the High Court agreed with the Press Association and Tortoise Medi, who asked that the act be declassified in the public interest.

Kate Griffiths was in favor of the publication, while her ex-husband - who denies sexually abusing his wife - was against. The Conservative MP had pushed for disclosure, even though the law protects victims of sexual abuse with anonymity.

"I renounced it - he declared - because I recognize that my position allows me to campaign for such cases to have a positive outcome, for those who are victims of domestic violence, and for the protection of the minors involved".
