The family of Mario Decandia , the 36-year-old waiter from Tempio Pausania , with roots in Luras , overwhelmed and killed by a police car in Palma de Mallorca on his way home after work, ask for "justice".
"Our interest at the moment is to bring Mario home - says Nicola Decandia , the victim's brother - but we have read a lot of news in the local newspapers, some contradictory. There are gray areas in this investigation . The first is how never, as some witnesses report, did the policemen who arrived at the crash site take the trouble to search their colleagues' cars . Even the details of the emergency lights and the sirens on or off are not clear ".
The waiter's family members strongly point out that they have nothing against foreign authorities. "We do not feel hatred for what happened - continues Nicola Decandia - but only so much pain for having lost our dear Mario . This, however, does not mean that we give up wanting an accurate investigation. We ask for clear answers based on rigorous investigations. There are many questions we want to answer. If there is malice, guilt or inexperience, we want it to be written . That those who have made a mistake assume their responsibilities. For me there is an obvious fault, and I would not want it to end under the rug".
And again: "It would be interesting to understand at what point the investigation is, and if after the alcohol test on the spot, the colleagues of the local police also did the blood tests in the hospital to their colleague who drove the vehicle. Here we ask that it be done full clarity. Nobody will give Mario back to us, but if there is someone who has made a mistake, they must assume their responsibilities ".
In recent days, the 36-year-old's family has been showered with displays of affection and closeness . "There are people who have done so much for our family - concludes the victim's brother - such as the company for which Mario worked, which supported us by providing us with a local lawyer. And then also the Italian institutions on the spot. they are helping in everything and for everything ".
