The provisional death toll from the massive overnight attack on Kiev involving 598 drones and 31 ballistic missiles launched from Russia is 12 dead, including 3 children, and over 45 injured—30 of whom are hospitalized. This is the largest attack on the Ukrainian capital since July 31, when more than 30 people were killed, but over 13 locations were hit overnight. Around ten people are still missing.

The Russian attack also hit the EU delegation building . Significant damage was inflicted on residential areas in the Darnytskyi and Dniprovskyi districts. "We are currently recording the consequences of the attack in more than 20 locations in the Darnytskyi, Dniprovskyi, Solomianskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, Holosiivskyi, Obolonskyi, and Desnianskyi districts. In the Darnytskyi district, a five-story building was directly hit. Everything from the fifth to the first floor was destroyed," said Tymur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration (KCMA).

"Three people were pulled alive from under the rubble," reports Ihor Klymenko, Ukraine's Interior Minister. " There is a high probability that there are still people under the ruins . Climbers, dog handlers, psychologists, engineers, firefighters, and rescue personnel are involved. Robotic equipment is being actively used to clear the area so rescuers can work more quickly. In total, about 500 rescuers and 1,000 police officers are working simultaneously in Kiev."

"Every minute of our emergency services' work is aimed at saving lives and supporting those who have suffered most from Russian terror," Klymenko adds. The toll from the nighttime attack on the Ukrainian capital risks worsening further. "Body fragments have also been recovered, but identification is still difficult," the minister concludes.

Overnight, Russia's drone and missile attack in Ukraine also caused damage to the railway network. One of the industrial plants in the city of Zaporizhia was also hit .
