«We understood that this is a political process, totally instrumental so we simply need to free Ilaria from this injustice she is suffering. Ilaria, however, obviously wants to demonstrate her innocence, so I believe that we will need to find a way to move the trial either to Italy or Germany in such a way that she can fully demonstrate her total non-involvement in the facts."
This was said by Roberto Salis, the father of Ilaria Salis , the 39-year-old Italian detained in Hungary - now under house arrest - on charges of assaulting two far-right militants.
«Ilaria – added Roberto Salis speaking about his daughter during an event in Bologna of the Italian Left-Avs, the party that nominated the 39-year-old for the next European elections – is quite well, she is recovering physically because the restriction was very harsh. She has stamina problems, if she goes up two flights of stairs she gets out of breath. Now – he concluded – we need to complete the work and bring it home."
