IDF soldiers found the remains of Ran Gvili, the last Israeli hostage still held in Gaza.
Defense Minister Israel Katz announced this on X. He explained: "Sergeant Major Ran Gvili has returned home. On the morning of October 7, when the brutal Hamas terrorist attack broke out, Ran rushed to the Gaza border area, courageously joined the fighting in Kibbutz Alumim, fought with extraordinary heroism, eliminated numerous terrorists and protected civilians with his own body, until he fell in battle and was kidnapped and taken to the Gaza Strip."
"Ran," Katz continued, "was a courageous fighter, driven by a deep sense of mission and national responsibility. His heroism on that difficult morning is part of the story of the resistance and determination of fighters and security forces in the face of terrorist attack."
