The U.S. and Israeli militaries are developing "specific plans" to resume attacks on Iran after the U.S. midterm elections on November 3, the New York Times reports, citing U.S. officials and other sources familiar with the matter.

According to the newspaper, the likely targets of this potential new offensive would include Iranian energy infrastructure, nuclear facilities, and missile and drone arsenals. However, the New York Times adds, it is currently uncertain whether US President Donald Trump will authorize such new attacks.
