Princess Kate released from hospital: a long convalescence awaits her
After the abdominal operation and 13 nights of hospitalization, the wife of the heir to the throne will remain away from public commitments for a whileKate Middleton returns home.
The Princess of Wales, wife of the heir to the British throne William, was discharged today from the London Clinic where she spent 13 nights in hospital after a delicate abdominal surgery of an unspecified nature. The official announcement comes from Kensington Palace.
King Charles III has been hospitalized in the same clinic for three days, having undergone a routine prostate operation over the weekend.
The princess is improving, her staff announces, but the indication of a long convalescence is confirmed, for an indefinite period , during which her absence from any dynastic commitment is expected: a convalescence which, at least initially, the wife of William will spend his time in a royal residence in Windsor , outside the city, more secluded than the one she usually occupies with her husband and three children (princes George, Charlotte and Louis, aged 10, 8 and 5) at Kensington Palace, in the heart from London.
«The Princess of Wales has returned home to Windsor - reads the statement - to continue her recovery from the operation, and is making good progress. The Prince and Princess would like to extend a huge thank you to the entire London Clinic team, especially the nursing staff, for their care. The Galles family continues to be grateful for the well wishes received from around the world."
Unofficial sources cited by the tabloids limited themselves to immediately ruling out cancer . The tabloids have launched into the most disparate hypotheses, from the preventive removal of the uterus, to that of a serious form of diverticula. But there is no confirmation: the princess, who left the hospital in complete discretion, has called for maximum confidentiality.
