Policewoman and inmate disappear into thin air on the journey between prison and court

Mystery in the US state of Alabama , where a prison policewoman has vanished together with an inmate she was escorting.
The disappearance was reported by the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Office, which explained in a Facebook post that Officer Vicky White stopped reporting her after leaving jail with a man named Casey Whit and (i two have the same surname but are not related ), accused of murder .
The two got into the car to reach the court, where the man was expected for an assessment of his mental health .
After the alarm, the car they were traveling in was found in the parking lot of a shopping center.
Vicky White, 56, has been in the department for 16 years, and carried her service pistol, a 9mm. According to the sheriff's office, he committed an infringement of the regulation , which provides that at least two officers must be present for the escort services of the detainees.
The 38-year-old inmate he was escorting confessed to killing a woman - Connie Ridgeway - in 2015. An admission of guilt came in 2020 as the man was already in prison for other crimes.
The case is now being investigated by both the police and the FBI .
