Loris Sabatucci, 48 years old, from Piacenza who moved to Milan for years, a "youtuber" with a past of accusations related to drug trafficking, died on Saturday evening in an accident with an ultralight in Spain.

This was reported today by the Piacenza newspaper Libertà, citing Spanish sites while official confirmation of his identity from DNA tests by the Guardia Civil is still awaited.

The crash of the aircraft occurred after eight in the evening in a wooded area called Beteta, east of Madrid. With him there was a 31-year-old woman who was injured and rushed by helicopter to hospital. Sabatucci was driving a Pelegrin Tarragon ultralight. Investigations by the Spanish police are underway.

His, Libertà recalls, was an over-the-top life. He defined himself as a YouTuber, with dozens of online videos in which he showed himself driving large cars while speeding along the highway and teasing other motorists. In another clip he boasted about landing in the parking lot of a fast food restaurant to buy burgers and chips.

Sabatucci had also been the protagonist of judicial news: a few years ago he was arrested in Pavia by the Financial Police, accused of having set up a clandestine cigarette factory and transported tons of them to Sardinia with an aircraft.

Then he was accused of being involved in cocaine trafficking, always using a helicopter to transport the drug. The trial was still at the preliminary hearing stage and he had always denied the charges. He had also recently been arrested in Morocco after landing with a helicopter, which then disappeared.
