The independentists are raising the level of conflict and tension is rising in Corsica , where last night around twenty explosions occurred which hit some buildings on the French island.
The National Liberation Front of Corsica (FLNC) claimed responsibility for the episodes with a note sent to the Corse-Matin newspaper: « We do not want a common destiny with France. To Francia Fora », we read in the four-line text.
The explosions hit secondary residences, a disused tax center and villas under construction, in the north and south of the island .
At the end of September, Emmanuel Macron , visiting Corsica, said he was "in favor of recognizing the Corsican specificities in an article of the Constitution". «We must have the audacity – said the French president – to build an autonomy for Corsica within the Republic ».
