"We really should do it. It makes no sense for America to pay for Europe's defense." This is how Elon Musk responded on X to a user who asked for an exit from NATO, thus underlining the unity of purpose with Donald Trump, who even during his first term in the White House repeatedly urged European countries to put more money into the Atlantic Alliance.
Musk also issued a veiled threat to Ukraine: "Starlink is the backbone of the Ukrainian military. If I turned it off, the front line of the Ukrainian armed forces would collapse."
“I literally challenged Putin to a one-on-one physical fight over Ukraine, and my Starlink system is the backbone of the Ukrainian military. Their entire front line would collapse if I shut it down. What makes me sick is years of slaughter in a stalemate that Ukraine will inevitably lose. Anyone who truly cares, truly thinks, and wants this meat grinder to stop. Peace now,” he wrote.
