A shooting in Montreal, Canada, has left three dead, including the attacker. It occurred at a grocery store in Côte-des-Neiges, a heavily Jewish neighborhood with several kosher restaurants and nearby Jewish schools and communities.

Two people were killed: one whose identity is unknown and an officer who responded to the scene. "It is with great sadness that we can confirm that one of the officers has died," law enforcement officials said, noting that another injured officer is in serious condition.

The suspect, a man reportedly from Alberta and wearing camouflage, reportedly fired at least 20 shots and was then killed . The entire surrounding area has been placed on high alert.

"An anti-Semitic terrorist attack," World Zionist Organization President Yaakov Hagoel, quoted by Israeli media, said, "is an urgent wake-up call for the world. You are shedding Jewish blood! I appeal to the Canadian government and world leaders: do not be satisfied with condemnations and declarations. The time has come to act decisively against anti-Semitic terrorism."
