A 22-year-old African American was shot dead by police in Minneapolis, the same Minnesota city where George Floyd lost his life after being suffocated by an officer.
The latest episode that triggers controversy occurred during a search, of what in technical jargon are called "no-knock warrant", ie without warning.
The webcam of one of the policemen recorded the whole scene: the police put a key in the door of an apartment before breaking in shouting "police! Search!". "Hands, hands, hands!", One shouts, while the others order "lie down on this fucking floor!", Approaching a sofa bed where the young man, Amir Locke, is wrapped in sheets. A policeman kicks the sofa and the African American tries to get up, apparently holding a gun, according to a frame isolated by investigators. Then the shots, three sharp shots, from the weapon of Mark Hanneman, the agent who has already been suspended pending the outcome of the investigation.
