Mexico, new details on the death of "El Mencho": betrayed by his lover's visit

New details are emerging regarding the death of “El Mencho” , the pseudonym of Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, leader of the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel , one of the most powerful and bloodthirsty criminal organizations in Mexico, killed on February 22 in Tapalpa.
According to Defense Minister Ricardo Trevilla , the criminal boss was identified by following the trail of his lover, thanks to an agent who infiltrated the woman's circle of contacts.
"We investigated El Mencho's relationships to the point of identifying a lover . We infiltrated an agent into his circle of acquaintances and confirmed his presence in Tapalpa. We planned the operation on February 21st and launched it on February 22nd."
"El Mencho was seriously injured while trying to escape into the Jalisco jungle with his men and died while being picked up and transported to Mexico City," added Trevilla without providing details on the fate and identity of his lover .
The incident sparked chaos and violence across Mexico. Authorities have currently estimated the death toll at 26 , 17 of whom were law enforcement officers.
