Meloni's appeal: "The Flotilla must stop; if it does, it will jeopardize the U.S. peace plan."
The Prime Minister: "Many would be happy to use any pretext to undermine the fragile balance we've achieved."Per restare aggiornato entra nel nostro canale Whatsapp
With the Middle East peace plan proposed by US President Donald Trump, hope has finally dawned for an agreement to end the war and the suffering of the Palestinian civilian population and stabilize the region. This hope rests on a fragile balance, one that many would be happy to disrupt. I fear that the Flotilla's attempt to breach the Israeli naval blockade could provide a pretext.
Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni wrote this on social media.
"For this reason too," he added, "I believe the Flotilla should stop now and accept one of the various proposals put forward for the safe delivery of aid."
Any other choice, according to the Prime Minister, "risks becoming a pretext to prevent peace, fuel conflict, and thus harm especially the people of Gaza to whom we claim to be seeking relief. It's time for seriousness and responsibility."
