Meloni: "Sending soldiers to Greenland should be discussed within NATO."
The Prime Minister from Tokyo: "The US is raising a serious issue; we must strengthen our presence within the Alliance."France, Germany, Sweden, and other allied countries have already sent their troops. Italy is waiting. " I believe that the issue of strengthening security and the presence of allies in Greenland is a serious matter, but it falls within the scope of dialogue within the Atlantic Alliance, meaning that Greenland should be considered a territory under NATO responsibility."
Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni stated this at a press briefing at the Italian Embassy in Tokyo, during her trip to the Orient.
The question the Americans are raising, he adds, "is a serious one, obviously, and I believe the discussion of strengthening our presence is certainly necessary, and should be done within the Atlantic Alliance. However, I believe that is the framework in which to discuss this matter, including any potential implications for our presence."
