The body of Muhammed Sinwar, the de facto leader of Hamas, was reportedly found in a tunnel in Khan Younis, near the European Hospital, which was repeatedly bombed by the IDF five days ago, Saudi broadcaster Al-Hadath reported, citing sources.

According to Al-Hadath, the bodies of ten close associates of Muhammed Sinwar were also found in the tunnel, including that of the commander of the Rafah Brigade Muhammad Shabana.

Last Tuesday, the IDF and Shin Bet conducted a targeted attack on underground infrastructure at the European Hospital after obtaining intelligence indicating that Muhammed Sinwar, who succeeded his brother Yahya after his killing in October, had senior Hamas officials gathered in the tunnel.

For days, the IDF continued to shell the site, preventing rescuers from approaching. Israel has not yet confirmed the deaths of Sinwar or Shabana.
