“Together with the United States, we call on Russia to agree to a comprehensive and unconditional 30-day ceasefire to create space for talks on a just and lasting peace,” the leaders of France, Britain, Germany and Poland said ahead of their meeting with Ukrainian President Zelensky.
"We are ready to hold peace talks as soon as possible, to discuss the technical implementation of the ceasefire and to prepare a comprehensive peace agreement," they added. "We want to be clear: the bloodshed must stop, Russia must stop its illegal invasion, and Ukraine must be able to thrive as a safe, secure and sovereign nation within its internationally recognized borders for generations to come."
And again: "We will continue to increase our support for Ukraine. Until Russia agrees to a lasting ceasefire, we will increase the pressure on the Russian war machine."
