French President Emmanuel Macron has reappointed Sébastien Lecornu as prime minister. The Elysée Palace announced the news.

"I accept—out of duty—the mission entrusted to me by the President of the Republic to do everything possible to provide France with a budget by the end of the year and to address the daily problems of our fellow citizens." He wrote this in a message on X Lecornu, after his reappointment at Matignon.

«I will do everything to succeed in this mission: we must put an end to this political crisis, which is exasperating the French people, and to this instability, which is damaging to France's image and its interests».

An appointment that was not well received by the leader of the Rassemblent National, Jordan Bardella: "The Lecornu 2 government, appointed by Emmanuel Macron, more isolated and disconnected than ever at the Elysée, is a bad joke, a democratic disgrace and a humiliation for the French," he wrote on X.

The far-right party "will immediately censor this team with no future, whose only reason for existence is the fear of the dissolution (of the National Assembly, ed.), that is, of the people," he added.
