Saif al-Islam Gaddafi , second son of former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, was reportedly killed during armed clashes at his villa in Hamada, in the Zintan area.
According to Libyan media reports, Gaddafi's youngest and most politically active son was killed by four armed men in the garden of his home. The circumstances suggest a full-blown ambush, with the assassins immediately fleeing the scene. A photo of his body lying on the ground, dressed in a white jallabiah, bald, and with a graying beard, has been circulating online.
Regarding the events in Tripoli, some are pointing the finger at Saddam, the son of Khalifa Haftar, the strongman in Benghazi, who was apparently competing with Saif for the same type of electorate.
According to Al Arabiya television, armed clashes between local militias and militias loyal to the former Gaddafi regime continued in the afternoon in the desert area of al-Hamada .
