After a nearly three-hour meeting between Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu and President Emmanuel Macron, the new government team was made official.

While some key ministers have been reappointed, the new executive also marks important changes in strategic ministries.

The heads of the Economy and Foreign Affairs Departments will remain unchanged: Roland Lescure and Jean-Noël Barrot will retain their respective responsibilities, demonstrating the desire to ensure continuity on issues central to the Elysée's agenda.

Significant developments have emerged at the Ministry of the Interior, where Paris Prefect Laurent Nuñez has replaced Bruno Retailleau, leader of the Republicans, who have decided not to join the new government. This move represents a clear distancing of the center-right party from Lecornu's new direction.

Another significant change has been made at Defense, with former Labor Minister Catherine Vautrin taking over, while a technical expert has been appointed to lead the Ministry of Labor: Jean-Pierre Farandou, former president of the French Railways (SNCF).

Gérald Darmanin was confirmed as Justice Minister , as was Rachida Dati as Culture Minister , thus marking a line of stability in some key areas of the executive.
