A rocket, the origin of which is still being ascertained, fell inside the Shama base in Lebanon, home to the Italian contingent of the Western sector of the UNIFIL mission , led by the Sassari Brigade.
From what we understand, no injuries were reported among the Italian personnel, only minor damage to a military vehicle.
Investigations are underway to precisely determine the rocket's origin and the circumstances of the incident, according to the Ministry of Defense.
Minister Guido Crosetto is in contact with the Chief of Defense Staff, the COVI commander, and the commander of the Italian contingent to constantly monitor the situation.
Initial investigations, informed sources report, suggest that a 107-millimeter short-range rocket, typically used by Hezbollah militias, ended up at the Italian UNIFIL base. The rocket's fragments reportedly punctured a vehicle.
