Paris knife attack: Attacker says "Allah sent me to kill women."

Terror in Paris , where around midday, in the Porte de Clichy area , in the north of the city, three women were injured in a knife attack.

The alleged perpetrator was reportedly stopped by law enforcement.

One of the three women affected is pregnant, according to local media reports, and one has been hospitalized in conditions of "absolute emergency" .

The suspect arrested on the scene is believed to be a 31-year-old man with mental health issues, according to initial evidence.

The terrorism lead is therefore "not favored" by investigators. "However," a source close to the investigation said, "we were initially pursuing that lead, because that guy said 'Allah sent me to kill women.' But we believe he's a madman."

The anti-terrorism prosecutor's office is not currently in charge of the investigation.
