Tension is growing in the Zaporizhzhia region where Russian troops have begun to use new weapons , containing poisonous substances and tear gas . Tavria brigade spokesperson Dmytro Lykhovi declared this on Ukrainian TV, quoted by UNIAN. In the last week, according to the report, the Kremlin army has launched grenades with suffocating tear gas of the chloropicrin type from drones about 50 times: «Yesterday alone – said Lykhovi – 15 munitions of this type were launched, almost all in Zaporizhzhia sector. When the enemy cannot hit our trenches with artillery or drones, he uses these suffocating gases."

According to the spokesperson of the Tavria brigade, Russian troops "are not attacking just for show, but are increasing the intensity of bombing and assault operations ." Lykhovi said the Novopavlivka sector is the hottest, with 30 hostile attacks in the past day, while 16 attacks were repelled in the Avdiivka sector yesterday. In the Orikhivsk sector, however, eight enemy attacks were repelled.

The difficulties and the attacks that show no sign of stopping do not discourage the Ukrainian military: Brigadier General Oleksandr Tarnavskyi, commander of the Tavria operational group, declared that his forces are conducting a defensive operation "inflicting significant losses on the Russian occupiers".
