Following the announcement of a truce between the US and Iran and the start of negotiations to reach a definitive ceasefire, the Kiev government urges the United States "to return attention to the war in Ukraine."

"We welcome," Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga wrote in X, "the agreement between President Trump and the Iranian regime to unblock the Strait of Hormuz and call a ceasefire, as well as Pakistan's mediation efforts. American resolve is working. And we believe the time has come for sufficient resolve to force Moscow to ceasefire and end the war against Ukraine."

And the possibility of effectively returning to the path of negotiations with Moscow is also topical. "Ukraine has always called for a ceasefire in the war that Russia is waging here, in Europe, against our state and our people, and we support the truce in the Middle East and the Gulf, which paves the way for diplomatic work," stated Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky . "Ukraine," Zelensky added, " reiterates to Russia once again: we are ready to respond in kind if the Russians cease their attacks. It is clear to everyone that the ceasefire can create the right conditions for agreements."
