In Kiev, a man opened fire on a crowd, killing at least six people and injuring several, including a baby boy, before barricading himself in a supermarket and taking hostages.
After the intervention of police and special forces, the suspect, a sixty-year-old believed to be originally from Russia , was neutralized . A video published by Ukrainska Pravda shows a white-haired man running along a street with a rifle in his hand . The incident occurred in the Demiivka area of the Holosiivskyi district in the south of the Ukrainian capital.
"My condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims," Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky wrote on social media. He added: "Ten people are currently hospitalized with injuries and trauma. All are receiving the necessary care. Four hostages have been freed. We expect a swift investigation into the incident."
