Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has issued a directive that near-nuclear-grade uranium must remain in Iran and not be shipped abroad, hardening Tehran's position on a key US demand in the peace talks.

Reuters reports this on its website, citing Iranian sources. Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei's order could further frustrate US President Donald Trump and complicate negotiations to end the war between the United States and Israel against Iran.

Meanwhile, Tehran has received the United States' response to its peace proposal and is examining it. The Washington text, Iranian media claim, "has filled some gaps," but it still isn't enough. "We are examining the United States' proposals," Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei simply said.

Donald Trump had said he was willing to wait a few days to get the "right answers", threatening to resume the attacks otherwise .
