Ivan Luca, born in Russia, is the adoptive son of Pietro Vavassori, owner of Italsempione, a logistics company, and of Alessandra Sgarella, kidnapped by the 'Ndrangheta in 1997, forced to a long imprisonment in Aspromonte, and died in 2011 of illness .
