At least 27 Palestinians were killed and more than 180 were injured when Israeli forces opened fire on a crowd of civilians awaiting humanitarian aid near the Al-Shakoush aid distribution point, north of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, according to local sources cited by Wafa.

Medical sources confirmed that the total death toll in Gaza has risen to 60 since the early hours of Saturday, due to continued Israeli bombing and shooting in several areas of the besieged enclave.

The news comes as official negotiations between Israel and Hamas to reach a truce agreement in Gaza are still underway in Doha, the capital of Qatar. "Indirect talks between Hamas and Israel for a ceasefire in Gaza are stalled by Israel's desire to keep troops in the territory," two Palestinian sources told AFP. "Negotiations in Doha are encountering a setback and complex difficulties due to Israel's insistence on presenting a withdrawal map that is actually a redeployment and redeployment map for the Israeli army rather than a true withdrawal ," one source said.
