The Israeli army said it had struck several positions of the pro-Iranian Shiite movement Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.

In the southern sectors of the country, the Sassari Brigade is being deployed and from the beginning of March it will lead the Leonte operation as part of the Unifil mission, which must monitor the application of UN Resolution 1701 , aimed at maintaining peace and guaranteeing support and protection to local populations in a historically unstable area, precisely because of the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah.

The deployment involves approximately 2,800 peacekeepers. Of these, approximately 500 are Dimonios.

"In response to Hezbollah's repeated violations of ceasefire agreements, the Israeli military is striking Hezbollah's terrorist infrastructure in southern Lebanon," the Israeli military wrote on Telegram.
