In a letter addressed to Pope Leo XIV, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian urged the nations of the world to counter Washington's "illegal" demands.

According to reports, Pezeshkian stated in the letter: "The Israeli-American aggression resulted in the assassination of Ayatollah Khamenei, key political and military figures, and 3,468 citizens, with extensive damage to schools, universities, hospitals, places of worship, and infrastructure. These are clear war crimes."

Citing Quran and Biblical passages condemning arrogance, the Iranian president also praised the Pope's "moral, logical, and just positions" on the attack on the Islamic Republic.
