Iran's military has launched drone and missile strikes against US bases in several countries in the region, responding to Washington's latest airstrikes in southern Iran, promising a stronger response if the attacks continue.

In a statement released Sunday, the Iranian military said it had launched drone strikes in Kuwait, targeting US Patriot systems, ammunition depots, and a radar site. It added that the drone strikes also hit US communications and radar systems in Bahrain.

The Iranian military warned that the responsibility for the consequences of insecurity in the region lies with the United States and Israel , adding: "We will respond more forcefully" if attacks against Iran continue, the IRNA news agency reported.

Earlier, the US Central Command said it had struck 140 targets inside Iran in response to what it called attacks on ships in the Strait of Hormuz.

In response to the US aggression, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched ballistic missile attacks against the US Prince Hassan Air Base in Jordan, stressing that ships had attempted to cross the "illegal route" in the southern part of the Strait of Hormuz.

"The criminal US regime, imposing its will on the government of the Sultanate of Oman, attempted once again last night to repeat a failed experiment by provoking several vessels into establishing an illegal sea route south of the Strait of Hormuz. This attempt was met with a decisive response from the Navy, which blocked it," the IRGC said in a statement released Sunday.

According to the statement, the United States, "to compensate for this defeat," conducted airstrikes against a number of military bases and telecommunications towers along Iran's southern coast, prompting a strong response from the IRGC.
