The US is moved by the story of Cal Dunham and his wife Linda, who died of Covid-19 on Monday, practically at the same time, after being hospitalized.
The dramatic story is reported by numerous American media. According to their daughter's account, the couple - he 59 and she 66, residents of Grand Rapids, Michigan - had left to go camping, but after a few days they began to feel unwell. At first they thought - because they had symptoms - of a cold. But their condition progressively worsened, until hospitalization was necessary, where they tested positive for the coronavirus.
The Dunhams were thus placed in intensive care, with ventilator assisted breathing. Unfortunately, the doctors' attempts to save their lives have been in vain.
Before the end - said the daughter Sarah - the nurses approached their beds and the couple took hands. Then they passed away, close, one minute from each other, he at 11.07, she immediately after.
"My mother used to say to my father, as a joke: 'You will see that you will leave before me. But I will follow you shortly after'. And it was just like that", his daughter Sarah recalled, still moved, in one ' interview with Fox 17.
According to reports, the two were both vaccinated. After the administration, in May, they also published a post on Facebook to invite everyone to protect themselves against Covid. Both, however, still got the virus, a fatal result, perhaps, for some unspecified previous pathologies from which both suffered.
