A swarm of 650 Ukrainian drones targeted the Moscow region overnight, killing at least one person on the outskirts of the Russian capital and injuring several others. Local media reported it as the largest nighttime attack the region has seen in two years.

"Most of these aircraft were shot down by anti-aircraft defenses, including 105 intercepted as they approached the capital," Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said.

"The attack resulted in the death of a 20-year-old man in a village on the outskirts of Moscow," regional governor Andrei Vorobiev said, also reporting damage to homes in several localities.
