A helicopter crashed on Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, killing five people. Local authorities announced the crash, adding that two tourists were among the victims.

Tanzania's Civil Aviation Authority, local media reported, confirmed that the accident occurred yesterday near Barafu camp.

Among the victims were a guide, a doctor, the pilot, and two foreign tourists whose names and nationalities were not released.

Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest peak, stands nearly 6,000 meters above sea level and attracts an average of 50,000 tourists a year.
