Alarm raised at a high school in southeastern Turkey , in the province of Sanliurfa, where a former student fired several shots and injured 16 people before taking his own life with his own gun .
Provincial governor Hasan Sildak made the statement, as reported by NTV, adding that the attacker was 19 years old.
The injured include two teachers and 14 students.
According to initial reconstructions, the attacker appeared at the building with a long-barreled weapon and fired several shots into the courtyard and inside the institute .
Rescue workers quickly arrived on the scene, along with special police and gendarmerie teams. The building was evacuated . All the injured students were taken to the hospital, while the attacker was found dead at the scene.
According to an eyewitness quoted by Turkish news agencies, the attacker "shot directly at anyone he met."
