Alarm in Germany following a shooting in Stade, in the state of Lower Saxony.
According to police , five people were killed and several injured . Two people have been arrested.
Residents reportedly heard several gunshots inside a youth center. According to the dpa , the victims were adults .
Law enforcement has surrounded the area and is asking people to avoid it.
"I am following the news from Stade, Germany, with deep concern," said Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani . "I express my sincere condolences to my friend Johann Wadephul, to the families of the victims, and to all those involved in this tragic episode. Investigations are underway into the possible involvement of fellow countrymen . We stand with Germany in this moment of grief."
