Clashes broke out between protesters and police in France during demonstrations organized in several cities by students and "Yellow Vests."

In Paris, police used tear gas in Place de la République, while in Marseille, protesters broke into the lobby of the city hall. A police station in the city center was also attacked: windows were smashed and smoke grenades were thrown inside. Also in Marseille, protesters blocked traffic, setting fire to dumpsters and lighting smoke bombs. Incidents and clashes also occurred in Lyon.

Hundreds of people were arrested during the clashes, both in the capital and in other towns involved in the protests.
