Windsor Castle will become Queen Elizabeth's permanent home, as the 95-year-old sovereign will not return to live in Buckingham Palace.

This is what we read in the Sunday Times, which cites some sources close to the royal family. The Queen has lived in Windsor for about two years. In practice, since the beginning of the pandemic, but even previously, he stayed to sleep in the palace only on occasion.

The residence in Berkshire was even more congenial for her after the court doctors advised her a long period of rest, in which she carried out a very limited agenda of commitments (almost all virtual), to suspend them completely for a few days later the positivity to Covid, from which she recovered.

The next members of the royal family to settle permanently at Buckingham Palace will be Charles and Camilla, as king and queen consort. Charles, 73, is known to prefer his London residence, Clarence House, but admitted that the palace should remain the "headquarters of the monarchy", hence the official residence, once he ascended the throne.

Carlo would also like to give the public greater access to the palace and other official and private royal residences.
