Epstein case: Trump traveled at least eight times on the financier's jet: "Once there was a 20-year-old."
Over 11,000 files on the pedophile financier have been published. The name of the US president also surfaces. The U.S. Department of Justice has released additional files related to the Jeffrey Epstein investigation . These include over 11,000 files, images, and other documents, according to US media. According to an initial analysis by CBS News, the dataset, the largest released to date , appears to also include FBI documents, internal Justice Department communications, subpoenas, other legal documents, and records related to Epstein's 2019 death while in federal custody .
Among the files – as reported by the BBC – is an email stating that " Donald Trump traveled on Epstein's private jet many more times than previously reported (or that we were aware of)." The email, sent on January 7, 2020, under the heading "RE: Epstein Flight Logs," states that the tycoon "is listed as a passenger on at least eight flights between 1993 and 1996, including at least four flights on which Maxwell was also present ." "On one 1993 flight, he and Epstein are the only two passengers registered; on another, the passengers are Epstein, Trump, and a 20-year-old woman." The Department of Justice also issued a warning for caution regarding certain documents referencing the US president. "Some of these documents contain false and sensationalized claims against President Trump , which were submitted to the FBI immediately prior to the 2020 election." "To be clear: the claims," it is argued, "are unfounded and false, and if they had any credibility, they would surely have already been used as a weapon against President Trump. However, in accordance with the law and transparency, the Department of Justice is releasing these documents with the legally required protections for Epstein's victims."
Another document released today is a letter that appears to have been sent by Jeffrey Epstein to Larry Nassar , the doctor of the US national gymnastics team convicted of abusing dozens of young athletes, while he was in prison in 2019. The letter refers to "our president's love for young women," who was Donald Trump at the time. "Dear LN, As you know by now, I took the 'shortcut' home. Good luck! We share one thing: our love and concern for young women, in the hope that they could reach their full potential. Our president also shares our love for young, attractive girls. When a young beauty passed by him, he loved to 'grope' her, while we found ourselves eating substandard food in the prison system's cafeterias. Life is unfair. Sincerely, J. Epstein." The letter is postdated August 13, 2019; the pedophile financier committed suicide in prison three days earlier.
