Eight children were killed in a shooting in Shreveport, Louisiana, according to U.S. media reports, noting that the attacker also died after a police chase.

According to police, 10 people were shot, eight of whom died: minors between the ages of one and 14.

"The individual responsible, after leaving the scene, got into a car and fled. A police patrol pursued him. A firefight ensued, and the attacker was killed," authorities explained.
