During the night a magnitude 5.5 earthquake was recorded off the coast of Malta, felt in the cities of the Ionian coast.

Experts from Ingv of Rome have located the hypocenter in the sea, several kilometers south-east of the Isola dei Cavalieri at a depth of 10 kilometers.
