In light of the cyberattacks affecting the cold chain systems of numerous operators in several European countries, including Belgium, Luxembourg, Ireland, the Netherlands, Latvia, Finland, and Sweden, the Italian National Cybersecurity Agency has also called on operators in large-scale retail trade, food logistics, industrial refrigeration, and maintenance companies to adopt the security measures already recommended following the cyber incidents at a number of supermarket chains in France.
ACN has currently received an incident notification from a Tuscan company operating in the mass catering sector; it has also detected an attack, not yet reported, against a frozen food manufacturing company in Emilia. Reports have also been received in Sicily.
The Agency has intensified monitoring, given the sector's widespread distribution, to identify any further potential attacks.
