"Fate would have it that my brother didn't go into that place on Wednesday night. He was nearby, at another bar, with his friends. When they heard the explosion, they approached. He miraculously escaped; he frequented Le Constellation."
Michele Cuccu responds from Switzerland. A 38-year-old seasonal worker from Oliena, he breathes a sigh of relief. His younger brother, Battista, also working during the winter tourist season, escaped that fiery inferno. In that trendy venue, which was also supposed to host a group of young Sardinians for the New Year's celebrations.
At "Le Constellation," however, around 1:30 a.m. on January 1st, there was a terrible explosion. Over 40 people died and many were injured.
