The Vatican Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, and the substitute, Monsignor Edgar Pena Parra, are positive for Covid-19.
They are the main collaborators of Pope Francis.
Parolin "has very mild symptoms", report from the Vatican press office, while Pena Parra "has no symptoms".
"Both - continues a statement - are in fiduciary isolation in their apartments in the Vatican".
Cardinal Parolin and Monsignor Pena Parra are vaccinated and have also given the third dose.
It is now a question of understanding whether any particular precautions are envisaged for the Pope.
