President Donald Trump's national security adviser, Mike Waltz, will leave his post in the wake of the Chatgate scandal , US media reports.

Waltz, a former U.S. Congressman, would be the first senior official to

leave the Trump administration during the tycoon's second term.

The national security adviser had been under pressure since the editor-in-chief of The Atlantic Magazine revealed in March that Waltz had mistakenly added him to a Signal chat about the strikes against the Houthis, in which officials had outlined the attack plan, including when U.S. warplanes would take off to bomb targets in Yemen.
