A man, aboard a car, crashed in the American night (10 am in Italy) against the gate of Capitol Hill in Washington, the seat of the US congress. The car caught fire, the driver exploded some shots in the air and then took his own life.

The circumstance was confirmed by the police.

For now it does not seem to have been a fire exchange with the agents who intervened on the spot after hearing the sound of the shots. No one else was injured.

At the moment it is believed that the man, 29-year-old Richard A. York III, had no intention of specifically attacking a member of Congress, closed for the summer recess.
