Two more ships have been hit off the coast of Bulgaria in the Black Sea, Prime Minister Rumen Radev announced, declaring that he would summon the Russian ambassador following "unacceptable" attacks, of which he had informed NATO.

According to reconstructions, the first signal arrived at 1:30 am (local time) "regarding a vessel in difficulty": according to the crew, later rescued, the Maltese-flagged and Ukrainian-owned vessel was "hit by three aerial drones", Radev wrote on Facebook.

Subsequently, "another vessel was hit" and "sank," Radev added, specifying that "one crew member" was "rescued."

" Bulgaria continues to request support in the investigation into the attacks on its vessels, " the Prime Minister said, "in order to establish exactly which state is responsible for the drones that are striking ships in the immediate vicinity of Bulgarian territorial waters. We will also continue to request and insist on assistance in strengthening air and sea surveillance and enhancing our response capabilities."

"We have no concrete and clear evidence to bring charges against either side, but logic, as I have already stated, indicates that the outcome favors the Russian Federation. For this reason—in conclusion—I will summon Ambassador Mitrofanova for a meeting today."
