«It's a real nightmare here» declares Adalberto Arangino (59), a restaurateur from Belvì who has emigrated to Germany for over thirty years, from a Dubai under attack from Iranian missiles.

For Arangino, on vacation with his wife and a group of friends in the Gulf country, what were supposed to be days of relaxation turned into hours of anguish.

"While we were walking through the streets of Dubai," Arangino says, "we were surprised by the presence of drones in the sky, dropping bombs on the buildings near the Fairmont Hotel."

Arangino managed to capture the attack on video before leaving his Jumeirah resort accommodation: "The flames rose incredibly high, and I immediately realized the extent of the damage and what was happening just steps away from us. People were fleeing in desperation, while drones were neutralized by the Emirates' air defense system, and the sounds of ambulance sirens blended with the traffic rushing to help the injured."

Hence the decision to reach the airport and board the first plane to Germany: "Once we arrived at the airport, we found that all flights had been cancelled," Arangino continues. "Fearing further attacks, we had no choice but to go to a hotel in the city center where the last beds were available."

But the problems are said to be more extensive than expected: "We have contacted the Italian embassy several times, but have received no assistance or reassurance about what is happening. We are asking the Foreign Ministry and Minister Tajani," Arangino says, "to take charge of us Italians with immediate repatriation flights."
