A bomb threat on a flight from Rome prompted a security operation at Lisbon Airport this morning , according to CNN Portugal and confirmed by other media. The Ryanair plane landed in the Portuguese capital at 8:00 a.m. This morning, the Public Security Police received the alert via a phone call from a law enforcement officer, whose identity was verified by members of the Judicial Police. Authorities are taking steps to assess and confirm the credibility of the threat .

Yesterday was a day of sheer chaos in European skies, with 18 bomb threats affecting several scheduled flights, six of which were to Italy. Among the most critical cases, the Dublin-Rome flight was escorted by fighter jets and forced to make an emergency landing in Normandy to evacuate 151 passengers , while the Milan Malpensa-Warsaw route was urgently diverted to Vienna. Other aircraft bound for Rome and Milan arrived at their destinations but were immediately secured to allow for bomb disposal operations.

The emergency was triggered by a series of threatening emails written in Italian and signed by the " Male State Fighters ," an extremist and misogynistic group of ultranationalist inspiration. The messages announced imminent explosions on board airplanes. Experts believe it was a hybrid attack coordinated at the European level to cause destabilization and severe transport disruptions; investigators and international cooperation agencies are now working on the IP addresses to identify the perpetrators.
